Chiropractor for Headaches and Migraines in Lafayette, CO
If you have had headaches long enough to stop expecting answers
You have seen the doctors. Maybe a neurologist.
You have tried the medication, and either it stopped
working or you got tired of relying on it.
Somewhere along the way you started just
pushing through, like this is normal now.
It is not normal, and it is not permanent.
Most headaches that will not quit are not a problem in your head
They are a sign your nervous system is stuck in a stress pattern it cannot get out of on its own. When that pattern does not change, the headaches do not either.
Most chiropractic care for headaches treats them as a neck problem. Tight muscles, a joint that is not moving well, poor posture. That is often part of it and it is not the whole picture.
Your nervous system decides how much tension your body holds, how well you recover, and how sensitive you are to input. When it is stuck in a stress response it keeps muscles braced, disrupts sleep, and lowers the threshold at which something becomes painful.
That is why headaches so often travel with other things. Poor sleep. A clenched jaw. Feeling overwhelmed. A shortening fuse. They share a root, and NetworkSpinal care works on that root rather than only on the neck.
Who this tends to help
This is usually the right fit if:
-
You have had headaches or migraines for months or years and nothing has truly fixed them.
-
You have seen doctors or specialists and still do not have real answers.
-
The medication either stopped working, or you do not want to depend on it.
-
You feel stuck, wired, exhausted, or like your body forgot how to relax.
-
You have tried other things that helped for a little while but never held.
If you recognize yourself in even one of those, this is worth a conversation.
Afraid of the cracking and popping? So are most of our patients
We do not twist, crack, or force anything.
The work is gentle and precise. Light, specific contacts that help your nervous system shift out of the stuck stress pattern. A lot of our patients came in nervous because of a bad experience somewhere else, or because the idea of forceful adjustment kept them away for years.
If you have been avoiding chiropractic because having your neck cracked while you already have a headache sounds awful, that is not what happens here.
What care actually looks like
For years you have probably been told it is just stress, just tension, just something to manage. But nobody ever showed you anything.
Your first visit is a consultation, an exam, and a set of nervous system scans. The scans locate and measure the stress sitting on your nervous system, so you can see the pattern instead of guessing at it. Headaches are subjective. The scans are not.
On your next visit you go through the findings together, see what has been driving the headaches, and get a plan built around what the scans actually showed.
Change usually builds over a course of care rather than arriving in one visit.
What people are actually after
Nobody comes in wanting better scan numbers. They want their life back.
-
Stop planning your week around when the next headache might hit.
-
Get through a full day without reaching for another pill.
-
Wake up without wondering whether today is a bad one.
-
Be present with your family instead of hiding in a dark room.
When a headache is not a chiropractic problem
Some headaches need medical evaluation, not an adjustment.
See a doctor or go to urgent care if you have a sudden severe headache unlike any you have had before, a headache with fever and a stiff neck, a headache following a head injury, one that comes with vision changes, confusion, weakness or difficulty speaking, or a headache that is steadily getting worse over days or weeks.
Your first visit here includes screening for those. If something suggests you need a physician rather than a chiropractor, you will be told directly.
Headache questions, answered
Does going to a chiropractor help with headaches?
For many people, yes. Chiropractic care is a recognized approach for tension-type and cervicogenic headaches, meaning headaches that originate in the neck. Care here also addresses nervous system regulation, which is often part of the picture when headaches travel with poor sleep, jaw tension and feeling constantly wired.
Is acupuncture or a chiropractor better for headaches?
They are different approaches and plenty of people use both. Chiropractic focuses on the spine and nervous system, acupuncture on points and meridians. If you have neck involvement, jaw tension, or headaches alongside stress and poor sleep, chiropractic is a reasonable place to start. We are happy to say so if we think something else would serve you better.
How many visits before headaches improve?
It varies, and anyone who gives you a number without examining you is guessing. Some people notice a change in the first few weeks. Because care is built in stages, the more durable change usually comes over a course of care.
Will you crack my neck?
No. Care here is low-force, using light contacts rather than forceful adjustment. There is no cracking, popping, or twisting.
What is a red flag in chiropractic?
A red flag is any sign that you need medical care rather than chiropractic care. For headaches that includes a sudden severe headache unlike any before, headache with fever and stiff neck, headache after a head injury, or headache with vision changes, confusion, weakness or difficulty speaking. If we see any of these we will tell you directly and refer you.
Do you accept insurance?
We are a cash based practice, which means your care stays focused on what actually helps you, not on what an insurance plan will approve. Many patients use their HSA or FSA, and we are happy to provide a superbill you can submit for possible reimbursement. You can also review our Good Faith Estimate for clear pricing before your first visit.
Do you see children with headaches?
Yes. Children get headaches more often than parents expect, and it often shows up alongside screens, poor sleep, school stress, or a fall nobody connected to it. Care for a child is adapted to their age and is gentler again than adult care. Our pediatric page has more on how we work with kids.
