Chiropractic Care for Babies with Recurring Ear Infections in Lafayette, CO
When your baby keeps getting ear infections
If your child is on their third or fourth round of antibiotics
this year, or someone has raised the idea of tubes, you
are probably looking for something that addresses the
pattern rather than each episode.
That is what families come to us for. Not the infection itself,
which is your pediatrician's job, but the question of why a
particular child's ears keep filling and not clearing.
If you are reading this at two in the morning with a baby who will not settle, you are not the first parent to find us that way.
Why some babies get stuck in the cycle
The Eustachian tubes drain fluid from the middle ear. In babies they sit almost horizontal, so they drain poorly by design, which is why ear infections cluster in the first few years and usually ease as a child grows.
Tension through the upper neck and the muscles around the jaw and skull can affect how freely that area moves and drains. Reducing that tension is what we work on. It is a mechanical and neurological contribution, not an antimicrobial one.
What we actually use, by name
NetworkSpinal, Sacro Occipital Technique (SOT) and Logan Basic, three of the lowest-force approaches in chiropractic. SOT places padded wedges under the pelvis so your baby's own body weight does the work, alongside light cranial contacts. Logan Basic is a sustained contact at the base of the spine held with roughly the pressure you would use to check whether a tomato is ripe.
There is no twisting, no popping, and no high-velocity neck manipulation at any age. If you have read warnings about forceful cervical manipulation in infants, they do not describe what happens here.
Dr. Michelle Green is CACCP-certified through the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), with 200 hours of advanced pediatric training. She is also a Certified SOT Pediatric Practitioner (CSSPP) through the Peak Potential Institute and a PX Docs certified pediatric and family chiropractor.
What a first visit looks like
Nothing is decided on the first visit, and nothing happens to your baby that you have not agreed to.
We take a full birth history first: whether there was vacuum or forceps assistance, a long pushing stage or a C-section, how feeding has gone, and which side your baby prefers to turn. Then we run INSiGHT scans to see where tension is sitting. There is no radiation and nothing uncomfortable, and most babies sleep through it.
At the follow-up we walk you through what the scans showed in plain language, and what we would and would not expect care to help with. If we do not think we are the right fit for your child, we will say so and point you toward who might be.
Book an infant assessment, or call or text 720-722-1622 if you would rather ask questions first.
When to see a doctor first
Go to your pediatrician or urgent care for a fever over 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit in a baby under three months, severe or worsening ear pain, fluid or blood draining from the ear, a stiff neck, unusual drowsiness or difficulty waking, refusing feeds, or no improvement after 48 to 72 hours. We refer, and we will help you get there.
Chiropractic does not treat infection. What we work on is the pattern underneath the repeat visits.

Chiropractic care for colic and reflux: what the research actually says
What a nervous system scan shows in a child
Ear infection questions, answered
Can a chiropractor help with ear infections?
What gentle pediatric chiropractic may support is drainage and nervous system function in a child caught in a recurring pattern of ear infections. Work at the upper neck and around the jaw aims to help that area move and drain more freely. It does not cure an infection, and an active infection with fever needs medical evaluation.
Can chiropractic replace antibiotics?
No. If your child needs antibiotics, they need antibiotics. What we work on is the recurring pattern rather than the individual infection.
Is it safe to take an infant to a chiropractor?
Yes, especially when it is done by a chiropractor with post graduate pediatric training using low force technique. At The Well Healing Center we use only NetworkSpinal, Sacro Occipital Technique and Logan Basic on infants, none of which involve cervical thrusting, and Dr. Green holds CACCP, CSSPP and PX Docs pediatric certifications. Serious adverse events after forceful neck manipulation in children have been reported, which is exactly why technique and training matter. Ask any chiropractor to name the specific technique they use on babies before you book.
How do you know if your baby needs to go to a chiropractor?
Common reasons parents bring babies in include a strong head-turning preference, difficulty latching on one side, recurring ear or sinus congestion, arching, and persistent fussiness that is not explained by hunger or sleep. None of these are diagnoses on their own, and each is worth mentioning to your pediatrician too.
Why do some doctors discourage chiropractors?
Forceful manipulation does carry real risk, and an adult spine and a child spine are not the same thing. That is exactly why you should check what pediatric certifications your chiropractor holds. Dr. Green holds CACCP, CSSPP and PX Docs pediatric certifications, and we use low force technique only. A chiropractor with pediatric certification knows how to properly adjust an infant, which is very safe.
